As I was preparing to write this, I was going to make the point that as a native from South Western Pennsylvania and the Pittsburgh area I make an extra effort to see movies that are filmed/based on that city and area and unfortunately history has shown that many films shot there are, well, far from being good. But you know what? That’s wrong!

Sure, “Striking Distance”, “Angels In The Outfield” (the original), “Sudden Death” and “The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh” are lousy films, but when I looked at the total list of Pittsburgh area films:

“The Deer Hunter”

“The Silence of the Lambs”

“Lorenzo’s Oil”

“Groundhog Day”

“Wonder Boy”

“The Perks of Being a Wallflower ”

“Jack Reacher”

“Won’t Back Down”

and of course, the originals of  “Night of the Living Dead” and “Dawn of the Dead”

There’s more better films than worse. And you can add “Concussion” to that list.
