I think I wrote about this mostly because his death seemed (from this end) shockingly very quickly. For weeks he’d make his normal posts, about his teaching (he was looking forward to retiring) about what was going on in the world and having arguments with religious zealots (Ricardo was an atheist). Then a simple “I’m not feeling well” post and then suddenly, a post from his son on his wall that he’d passed away. I think that finding out about our Facebook friends like this will become the norm.
