Daily Comic Journal: April 21, 2019: “The Easter Ant.”
In case you don’t recognize the image on the TV screen, that’s Paul Rudd as Ant-Man. Because it’s more of a humorous heist film, and not so tied in with the other Marvel movies, I think moviegoers who’d usually pass on watching films featuring superheroes would enjoy this one.
I’ve reviewed the original “Ant-Man” film when I saw it back on 7/19/2015 and it’s sequel, the equally enjoyable “Ant-Man and the Wasp” on 7/15/2018.
Ant Man doesn’t get enough love. I think you’re right that it’s a good one to show to non-MCU fans. And the movie goes at least a whole letter grade higher due to that amazing re-cap scene.
When we watched it my mom’s initial reaction was, “Oh, look, isn’t that Michael Douglas?” Having an actor that she recognized appearing in a superhero film made it more accessible for her.
