Daily Comic Journal: December 12, 2021: “This Onslaught Of Commercials Are Driving Me Nuts!”
Frankly, I don’t know how they judge if their commercials for these high end products are effective or not. I can see how companies that make food products (chips, beer, etc…) or clothing, and other small end consumer products, can see if the ads they run and on the shows they run them, are adding to their sales, but cars? Trucks? Any automobile? Like I said in the comic, I can’t recall ever being swayed to buy a particular model car by it’s commercial.
On the other hand, when I’ve been inundated by the MANY commercials for a particular model car, I’ve made a mental note to NEVER buy that brand (I’m looking at you Lexus).
YouTube was overrunning me with SUV ads at one point. Here’s the thing. Mom and I are using a Chevrolet Impala with no intentions of upgrading anytime soon. If we have to get a new to us vehicle one day, it’ll be a mid size car again because it’s perfect for us.
The only thing I can thing is algorithm logic where as a mid 30s female, I’m stereotypically ripe for birthing youngings. Thing is I’m childfree!
