Daily Comic Journal: February 16, 2021: “When It Comes Down To It, Employers Don’t Care About You.”
My father spent his entire career working in the US Steel mills (when he wasn’t in the Army Reserves). I’m sure I get a lot of my work ethic from him and in the back of my mind, when I’m working for a company, I feel that I should stay. That I shouldn’t be looking for some other place to work. Though, reflecting on all my past jobs over these last several days, the one time that I looked for another job while still employed (when I was with Hasbro) was probably very smart on my part. That over the next five to six years, after I left, Hasbro went on a company acquiring spree. Thus leading to many rounds of layoffs.
I only wish I had that same desire to look for another job, when I was working at many of the other companies I was with after I left Hasbro. I may have been able to avoid all those other layoffs.
