For those of you who’ve never seen this movie or don’t know what I’m talking about, since the late 1960’s in the comics, Marvel has had a villain called M.O.D.O.K. (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing). They brought that villain into this movie, but instead of using make-up or CGI to replicate the way M.O.D.O.K. looked in the comics all they did was place the face of actor Corey Still (who played the villain Yellowjacket in the first “Ant-Man” film) onto the body of M.O.D.O.K. It looked really stupid and kept reminding me of two things.

It reminded me of the very old TV cartoon series from 1959, “Clutch Cargo”. This cheaply made cartoon would used very limited animation and instead of animating the characters mouths opening and closing with their dialogue, they superimposed the actual mouths of the voice actors on the faces. “Clutch Cargo” only lasted one season. It was very creepy looking.

The other thing this reminded me of was a YouTube series from 2009 called “The Annoying Orange”. It starred a group of fruit characters led by an annoying orange. They superimposed the voice actors mouths and eyes. It was a very popular YouTube series for awhile, but IMO was as creepy looking as Clutch Cargo.

There’s a lot wrong with this film but at least they could have created a better looking M.O.D.O.K.
