First I need to say that I’ve never read the original 2012 novel “A Man Called Ove” by Fredrik Backman and the 2015 Swedish film “A Man called Ove” that this film is based on.

I’d also like to point out that this movie was filmed throughout the Pittsburgh and South Western Pennsylvania area. Because of that, there are local places that show up, like the very first scene that takes place at a Busy Beaver store, a local hardware store chain. This particular Busy Beaver is in Lawrenceville and while I’m guessing it’s much like the two Busy Beavers near my home, I have to say, the odd things the retail workers say at the Busy Beaver in this movie is never said at the stores I’ve shopped at.
