I was fascinated  by this gap between graduating years. I point out what a grad in 1939 was going through and compared to what I was going through in 1979, the Energy Crisis and well, that’s about it. (now personally, those of us in Southwestern Pennsylvania was feeling the shockwaves of the death the Steel Industry but that really wasn’t being felt countrywide.)

Sure, when you look at the difference between 1979 and 2019, the fact that we didn’t have the internet and personal computers are a big difference, not to mention the mobile phone, may make it look like the gap between ’79 and ’19 is bigger, but I don’t know.

Maybe I should just call it a tie.
