Since most people, especially those living outside the Pittsburgh area, don’t know or have never heard of Stan Savran, I’ll point out two things in this comic that you might not get.

I titled this comic “Stan, Loved The Show”. When Stan hosted a call in sports talk show on cable TV in the 1980’s & 90’s (along with co-host Guy Junker) the callers got into the habit of starting their call with “Stan, Guy, Love The Show!” and it stuck. From that point on callers would always say that.

The other thing I’d like to point out is that Stan very, very rarely talked about himself. Many call-in talk show hosts will go on and on about themselves, but not Stan. With Stan it was always about the sports news and information. But, one day a year, usually in July during the MLB All Star Game break,  Stan would have a “Ask Stan Anything” show, where callers would, well, ask him anything. But that was it. If Stan had a big ego he never let it get in the way of the show.
