Daily Comic Journal: June 17, 2023: “A Wacky Reference.”
For those of you who don’t get what I’m referencing here…
In the late 1960’s Hanna Barbara had a Saturday Morning carton called “Wacky Races”. Each episode featured a race with 11 unique vehicles and characters who drove them. One such vehicle was a 1927 Packard Touring Sedan called The Bulletproof Bomb and it was driven by 7 mini gangsters called The Ant Hill Mob.
The mob was led by Clyde and is composed of him, Ring-A-Ding, Rug Bug Benny, Mac, Danny, Kirby and Willy. They are sometimes preoccupied with getting caught by the police and are able to use “getaway power”, which involves all the gangsters (except for Clyde) extending their legs through the bottom of the car and running.

Wacky Racers was so popular that a few characters got spin off into their own cartoon. Penelope Pitstop, the only female racer of the group got her own show called “The Perils of Penelope Pitstop”. It was sort of a spoof of the old silent movie melodrama cliffhanger movie serials. Each episode would feature Penelope in peril and The Ant Hill Mob would (usually clumsily) try to save her.
