Because this is simply a road through a park, crossing over the yellow line to give joggers, bicyclists, dog walkers enough room isn’t illegal. It’s not as if this is a highway. Those vehicles are huge, heavy metal objects that going at a speed (and they sure as hell aren’t going 15 MPH) will inflict some damage on human flesh.

Here’s the thing, when I do this on weekends, walking four feet from the edge to force those cars to avoid me, I inevitably see the look of anger on the driver’s face. As if, getting them to share the road is my fault. How dare I!
