For years I’ve been of the opinion that Halloween, specifically the night of trick-or-treating, should be held either on the last Friday or Saturday of the month of October. Since most parents get the weekends off and all kids have no school, it just makes sense that after a night of having fun on a holiday, they should get to sleep in the next day.

As for this switch of days (allowing for a much safer evening for the kids) having taken many by surprise, especially if they had plans for Friday, reading through those comments…..

It’s not as if their lives or the holiday of Halloween were being threatened or at risk by having the kids go out on November 1st.
