This isn’t meant to dis actor Willem Dafoe. In fact, I really enjoy his work. It’s just that if you look over his career, he’s tended, at times, to play many “off-kilter” characters. For example, here are a handful of some of them over the years:
A: Crazed criminal & killer, Bobby Peru from “Wild at Heart”, 1990
B: Sleazy porn aficionado and hanger-oner to actor Bob Crane, John Carpenter from “Auto Focus”, 2002
C: Creepy private detective Donald Kimball from “American Psycho”, 2000
D: Nasty badman & killer Jopling from “The Grand Budapest Hotel”, 2014
E: Insane supervillain Norman Osborn/Green Goblin from “Spider-man”, 2002
