Daily Comic Journal: September 2, 2020: “Now I Lay (Lapse?) Me Down To Sleep (Coma?).”
You might think that listening to these old TV series, while I work on my designs for Siemens, might not be as satisfying as just sitting on a sofa and watching them. Most of these old classic shows I record have a lot of dialogue and I can figure out what’s gong on, without having to watch it (it also helps if I’ve seen the show before) but I have to admit, Mannix is one of those shows that tends to have more action than conversations. Like any rough, tough private eye, Mannix gets into a lot of fist fights (and gets knocked out quite a lot) but despite all of that, I’m able to enjoy this background entertainment noise just fine.
Peggy is the best part of Mannix (IMO).
Gail Fisher was the first black actress or actor to win an Emmy Award. She won in 1970.
