I know it may not seem that important, but after you’ve been out of work for over a year, getting paid on a holiday is a big deal. With the exception of maybe Christmas and Thanksgiving, most holidays, though important to some, for the regular working stiff it just means not only having not to work that day, but still collecting a paycheck. When you’re unemployed, a Labor Day or Memorial Day, though important, can tend to drive home the point that you’re out of work especially when you see people on Social Media talking about their paid holiday. This year, not only did today feel good but seeing that morning moon just made the day feel better.
