Daily Comic Journal: September 5, 2020: “On The Run For 4 Seasons And 120 Hours.”
Yes, I was alive when “The Fugitive” debuted, though was only 2 years old, and I don’t recall if it was ever widely distributed in syndication*. If it was, I don’t recall ever seeing it then either. That being said, I knew all about it and was aware that “The Incredible Hulk” TV show borrowed it’s premise, of a man on the run being doggedly trailed (in this case, by a reporter). I’ve also seen, and enjoyed the Ford/Jones “The Fugitive” 1993 film, yet I’d still had never watched the original show.
Until now.
I stand by what I said in the comic. While I’m only into the early part of the second season, this is an excellent show. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to watch a riveting, serious adult drama and, IMO, it’s not hyperbole to stick alongside the acclaimed dramas (Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Mad Men, The Wire, etc…) of today.
*-I’ve read that shows that that have a definite ending, like “The Fugitive” has, are difficult finding life in syndication.
Great show. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen it in syndication.
