Daily Comic Journal: February 21, 2023: “Five Distinct And Unique Animated Choices.”
Since there’s probably a good chance that you may never see any of these Animated Shorts, I’ll let you know what “The Flying Sailor” is about.
It’s based on an actual event that took place in Halifax, in 1917. The sailor in this short is Charles Mayers, an officer aboard the SS Middleham Castle, a ship moored at a Halifax wharf on the morning of December 6, 1917. A French cargo ship, SS Mont-Blanc, collided with a Norwegian vessel, SS Imo. The Mont-Blanc was laden with high explosives. It caught fire and detonated a devastating explosion. At least 1,782 people were killed by the blast and an estimated 9,000 others were injured.
Charles Mayers was thrown by the explosion. He flew over 2 kilometers and lived to tell about it! This 8-minute short follows the “flight” of Charles as he contemplates his life and his choices during this near-death experience.

I was able to find all 5 films (free viewing – mainly on YouTube) by searching the internet for “how can I watch “title of short”].
My mistake – The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse does not seem to be available on line for free, though the BBC has a deceptive link to a 1-hour looping video of the characters having a nice walk and bite to eat. But, to paraphrase Meat Loaf, 4 out of 5 ain’t bad.
I hope you got a chance to watch them.
