Looking back on it now, there were plot holes and problems with the 2000 film version of “The X-Men”, but at the time, it was a breakthrough for Marvel Comics film adaptions.

Since then, the ongoing X-Men films varied in quality and movie goer differing opinions, but this movie is almost universally agreed upon. It’s not a good film. Maybe it’s the case because it was rushed, that with the quality of the Marvel Production versions getting better and better the FOX versions couldn’t compete. Who knows. It’s a damn shame too, cause the original comic by Byrne, Claremont and Austin was a comic book milestone.
