Mills (Adam Driver) is sort of a long haul bus driver in space, He takes long trips (because they pay more) to take groups of people from one planet to another (all his passengers are in suspended animation). An asteroid strikes his ship forcing him to crash land on a nearby planet. He survives but unfortunately his passengers die, well, all but one. A young girl who speaks a different language. Fortunately the escape pod is intact. Unfortunately, it landed miles away. So Mills and Koa (the girl) must travel on foot, through this strange land populated by dangerous creatures who all want them dead. They do this, unable to communicate with each other, and not only have to avoid getting killed and eaten while they race to that pod, but that asteroid that hit their ship was just the first of a massive asteroid storm that’s about to smash into this planet.
