Over the last several weeks I’ve been able to listen to many episodes of this show (METV airs it 5 days a week, weekdays at noon) many I’m sure I haven’t seen since they originally ran in the 1970’s. Because of this, after an episode had run I’ll often do a little research on IMDB to check out certain guest stars, stories of what went on behind the scenes, etc… I was happy to find out that actor Will Geer, who played Grandpa Walton, had, at this stage of his life finally achieved success and recognition in his career after years of being blacklisted in the early 1950’s. He won an Emmy on 1975 for Supporting Actor as Grandpa on “The Waltons”. Unfortunately, he passed away after just completing the 6th season of the show.
