This front stairway railing had been on my to-do list since, well probably since I bought the house last year. Personally I’m not too crazy with how they constructed these stairs, just long slabs of stone bricks piled on top of each other. I’d prefer just having solid concrete steps. The bricks themselves aren’t deep enough to hold screws or spikes, and besides, if I attempted to drill a hole in them it’d probably crack them.

I guess one reason why this hasn’t been a top priority of mine is that I don’t use them often. Since I pull my car into the garage when I come home and enter the house from there, I could go days, maybe weeks not using those front steps. Of course now that I’ve discovered a snag in a railing installation… I’ll probably put off constructing this even more.
