Daily Comic Journal: August 4, 2017: “Out Of The Darkness And Into A Paycheck.”
In case you forgot, the freelance package design job I did for MRC was delivered to them on on June 22nd. So it took a little over a month for them to pay and since this was the first job I’ve ever done for them, I was a bit concerned. But hey, at least my checking account will be a little healthier for awhile.
Oh and the reason I was perturbed at the power outage, hell, at any power outage that happens in my neighborhood is that all our power lines are underground. You’d figure there’d be less of a chance at the wires going down, since they’re already below ground.
Yeah, our power lines are underground too, but in the past 3 weeks we’ve had four power outages; two of them were significantly long (i.e., 14 hours and 25 hours) where you start to worry about stuff in your fridge/freezer and whether fish in the aquariums will start croaking. Of course, the power company rarely can give an (accurate) assessment of when the power will be restored. I think the problem is that underground power lines are “fed” by above-ground lines.
