In case you don’t remember it or perhaps haven’t read it, the comic I’m referring to is from here, on July 13. The reader who reacted poorly, by the way, did unfriend me, but that didn’t bother me. What spurred me on today, to react with this comic, is this  attitude, that many creators are showing on the internet. Why respond so, well, unprofessionally when a blanket statement is made?

In my opinion, if my work is criticized by name, good or bad criticism, I can deal with it. That’s one of the most important lessons you’re taught in Art School. But to go nuts to a blanket statement? I don’t understand. It must reflect on a poor self esteem towards one’s own work and until an artist learns to appreciate and be confident in his or her own style/work, they’ll never grow and fulfill their potential.

But, maybe that’s just me.
