At this time I own between 8 and 10 credit cards. There are several I don’t use (and who knows, they may be inactive by now) but the 6 to 8 I do use, are in a rotation. I’ll use each one for a few purchases then switch to another. In that way, the amount owed for each are never too high. At this time, since I began doing this around two years ago,  I’ve gotten nearly $500 cash back from my cash back cards, have already earned several free nights at a hotel, have gotten three Barnes & Noble gift cards and have tons of air milage, which according to the card’s fine print, won’t expire.

I figure if companies will offer these perks, I’ll take advantage of them. Besides, it’s been well over a decade since I had a balance on a credit card bill. Credit Cards aren’t dangerous as long as you keep paying them off and don’t pretend like they’re free cash.
