After I left Hasbro in 1989 I still had a lot of friends working there. But, with every acquisition of another toy company, (Kenner, Parker Brothers, Milton Bradley, Tonka, etc…) there were numbers of redundant employees, so Hasbro would just start cutting away the talent. I’d hear from so many good, talented, hard working artists and designers that they’d lost their job at Hasbro, not by what they didn’t do or did, but simply because of a numbers game. Would I have been one of them? Who knows. I got out of there before that could have happened.
