I’ve had Orientation at several companies in my career. Hasbro, Hallmark, K’NEX, etc… (and even with Tootsee Roll, after they bought Concord Confections where I’d been working at for several years). Most places, if not all, paints a happy picture of the company. Posting all the great perks and opportunities. But not at America Textile Company. Sure, they did trumpet the good aspects of the place, but I’d never sat through so much negative talk. Slide after slide of the many ways you could be demoted and yes, even fired. I felt so depressed after that meeting.

(and yes, I understand I was eventually fired, though if I wasn’t so desperate to have a job I would have quit that place long before that June 14th.)
