What he told me was, that there’s a pipe within the chimney from the downstairs fireplace and it’s loose. If I use that fireplace, there could be a build up of creosote between the pipe and the chimney. Now fireplaces aren’t really a necessity, and even if I don’t know how cold it gets in my downstairs family room during the winter, it’s not that imperative that I lay out the cash to fix this right now. I just won’t use this fireplace and wait until the spring to shell out the bucks to fix this.

That is, unless another expense crops up.
