I quit going to a dentist because they wouldn’t schedule more than 3 months out; they said to call for an appointment in 3 months. What a waste of time; plus I was more likely to forget over the intervening quarter of a year. At least if you know the appointment date 6 months away, it’s on your calendar and you can reschedule if something comes up.
