Daily Comic Journal: November 3, 2019: “Not Quite Groundhog Day. Maybe Deja Vu?
I’ve come to terms with myself and these comics, that I will NEVER, EVER catch up to date. That I’ll never get back to the point when I could post what happened on a specific date, the very next day (which I did waaaaay back when I started this strip). Unless, of course I leap ahead and ignore a huge chunk of time and scripts (daily notes) just to catch up. There are too many comics from those dates that I want to draw. So, if anyone reading these comics don’t mind the big time gap, I’m gonna continue to keep completing these as I go, though woefully far behind.
I’ve followed along for years. I used to read American elf, where he drew it day of. 4 panel. Not as detailed. I always wondered how long it took to do the bag comic, and was that thought of before you started this project. I can’t imagine dedicating more than a half hour per.
Stan, thanks so much for reading!
The movie review comics are quicker since it’s only one panel, though I try to add as much detail as possible.
The comics with large crowds of people, with a lot of settings and the comics with vehicles in traffic take the longest. Having a full time job bites into my comic drawing time so I can’t get more than one comic done a day. On a good weekend day I can get two done on a day.
I have a few of the American Elf paperbacks. I’d love to collect mine in books if I could find a publisher.
