Daily Comic Journal: December 16, 2021: “All Their Originality And Uniqueness Is Gone.”
I’m sure the answer to this observation, like the answer to most all questions on life, is money. Cable networks premiered with a distinct idea. They had a mission statement of the type of programming they would offer to the viewing audience and it was good. Then, as the years went by, the bean counters said, “Hey, why don’t we air what EVERY OTHER CABLE NETWORK is airing. It must be popular to TV audiences because they’re watching it and we can save a butt load of money.”
And that’s what we got. Hundreds of “different” channels with the same damn programs and movies.
Yuck.
That’s a big part of why I don’t miss having to drop DirecTV going on four years ago. Meh. Not a loss on my end. At that point, I had been preferring YouTube for multiple years. Can’t find a lot of the stuff I watch on traditional media anyway.
Like I doubt there’s a tv show for stuff like Mega driving school, one of the channels that does the video showing submitted footage from drivers encountering accidents or bad drivers on the road.
Go to TCM if you want uncut movies; similar to what AMC was when originated, but a higher quality of movies (for the most part), and the hosts are great.
