The reason I brought up streaming services as a reason for dwindling attendances at movie theaters is because they release new movies too damn soon on those services after they’ve been released in theaters. Back in the 1950’s-1970’s when television became a threat to the local cinema it would be two, three or even more years between theater release and when it would be shown on TV (and even then with commercials and edited). Even after the emergence of Pay Cable networks and VHS tapes there’d be several years delay. So if you wanted to see a particular movie you either saw it in the theater or waited several years to watch it at home on TV. But today? there’s like a two, three WEEK delay between initial release and streaming to TV, so of course people are skipping the cinema and watching at home. It’s a dumb ass procedure.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, it looks fun. Just hope I don’t catch Covid.
